SHOP WINE AND DINE

Terms & Conditions


DEPOSITS AND PAYMENTS:
At time of booking: $1200 per person
Total balance due: 45 days prior to departure.

Deviations, extensions or partial itinerary: The itinerary must be booked in its entirety. Extensions are allowed only at the beginning or end of the program and in those locations where the beginning or end take place. Cost of non-scheduled extensions will be subject to prices in effect at the time of booking.

Last minute reservations: Bookings received less than 30 days prior to departure are subject to availability at venues featured and may be subject to prices prevalent at the time of booking. Once confirmed, full payment will be due within 24 hours of confirmation by means of credit card or certified check sent by express mail.

Travel documents: Upon receipt of final payment, documents or confirmation of payment will be mailed approximately 21 days prior to departure. Passengers should provide name as it appears on the travel documents.

Airfare: The tour price is all inclusive of air transportation in coach class. Business class upgrade is offered at a surcharge. Please check off appropriate box on tour booking form.

Ticketing: Tickets must be issued with 72 hours of confirmation of flights.

Cancellation and Refunds: BEFORE DEPARTURE: For unused tickets, a cancellation penalty of USD200 applies per person. AFTER DEPARTURE: Ticket is non-refundable.

Change of reservation: Prior to departure - Once ticketed- After departure one change of travel date permitted at USD200.

Hotel accommodations: The hotels provided are as specified on the itinerary or similar. Should it become necessary, we reserve the right to make substitutions within the same standard or best available. There will be no price adjustments for any necessary substitutions.

Special requests such as smoking, type of bed, etc. will be at the discretion of the hotel management. Assignment of rooms will be done on run-of-the-house basis. Rates are non negotiable and there will be no partial refunds for unused accommodations.

Hotel taxes and service charges: Hotel taxes and related services charges are included. Not included are tips to room maids, in-room consumption, telephone charges and any other charges of a personal nature.

Meals and beverages: All meals and wine included are as specified and per choices previously arranged by Shop Wine and Dine. Any additional items ordered a-la-carte or outside the previously arranged menus and drinks selections, are at the expense of the passenger.

As this program’s intent is to provide a typical oeno-gastronomic experience it will be very difficult to accommodate special meal requests for either health or religious reasons. However if there are any dietary restrictions please provide complete details at the time of booking. Shop Wine and Dine will not be responsible if specified choices will not be available at the time the services are rendered and there will be no refund for unused meals.

Transfers: All transfers to sightseeing sites, festivals, meals etc. are as specified on itinerary by means of minibus or most appropriate for area and number of participants. Any other transportation required that is not part specified in the itinerary as being included, will be the responsibility of the passenger. Shop Wine and Dine Will make all efforts to assist in any other transportation needs and passengers will be charged and payment for such transportation to be made prior to services being rendered.

Children: Inasmuch that this type of tour is not geared toward children; there are no children’s discounts available whether the children occupy the parents’ room or a separate room.

Smoking: Smoking on private coaches and any other conveyance or at venues is not allowed. However provisions will be made to schedule stops or provide an appropriate site for those who wish to smoke.

Duty free: Currently the duty free allowance for each person returning from Europe is usd400. Passengers are responsible for observing this limit or for payment of duty in excess of this amount upon re-entry to the u.s.

Tipping: With the exception of tips to room maids, all tipping is included.

Cancellation of tour: It is Shop Wine and Dine’s policy to operate every group with a minimum of 6 passengers, subject to the appropriate surcharge. In the event that for whatever reason it will not be feasible to operate a departure as scheduled, the group participants will be notified a minimum of 30 days prior to the scheduled departure and all monies paid for those services will be refunded in full. Shop Wine and Dine will not be held responsible for any other cost associated with its inability to provide the services including and not limited to costs associated with airline reservations/ticketing or alternate arrangements.

Voluntary Cancellations: After payment of deposit or total payment, if the voluntary cancellation is received in writing within 60 days of cancellation, no penalties will be assessed. Any voluntary cancellation for any reason received in writing less than 60 days prior to the departure up to 30 days prior to departure, will result in forfeiture of the deposit paid. Any voluntary cancellation received in writing less than 30 days prior to departure will result in total forfeiture of tour cost. All cancellations must be made in writing by either e-mail to info@shopwineanddine.com or by fax at 973-379-7241.

Voluntary cancellations deemed necessary by the passenger due to political instability, acts of terrorism, US State Department warning will be subject to cancellation fees as stated above unless Shop Wine and Dine elects not to operate the tour due to any of these reasons. In that case, Shop Wine and Dine will make every effort to recover the payments made to the entities providing the services on the tour but cannot guarantee their recovery. Again, we urge the purchase of travel insurance as protection against any contingencies.

Travel documents: It is the passenger’s responsibility to make sure that travel documents, passports, visas if necessary, are in order. Failure to have the necessary documentation at the time of travel will not be a valid reason for exemption from cancellation penalties or inability to use of services in their entirety. Any portion of services not utilized is not eligible for refund on exchanges.

Responsibility: Shop Wine and Dine and any of its representatives abroad are limited to acting as independent contractors and not acting on behalf of the customers, suppliers and principals. All documents issued are subject to the terms and conditions under which such accommodations and other services are offered or provided. Redemption of travel documents constitutes acceptance of said services and acknowledgment and acceptance of the fact that Shop Wine and Dine is not an owner or operator of the hotels, motor conveyances, restaurants and any other venue or service provided on the their tours and will not be held responsible for substitutions, changes, and/or cancellations for any reason by such conveyances, hotels or any other provider of services nor for expenses due to delay or changes in transportation schedules or other causes.

Shop Wine and Dine is not to be held liable for injuries, damages, loss, accidents, delays or malfunction in any vehicle or through the negligence or people contracted in the conveyance of passengers, or any hotel proprietor, or any other staff acting on behalf or connected with those entities.

Shop Wine and Dine is not to be held responsible for hazards encountered relating to travel to destinations included in its tour programs where possibly injuries, unpredicted circumstances or delays might develop. Great care has been taken in making choices of venues of the highest caliber however Shop Wine and Dine shall not be held responsible for failure to meet these standards by venues or service providers including but not limited to hygiene issues, political stability, cuisine, sanitation facilities, telecommunications system, emergency medical assistance/evacuation/treatments, accidents, death, loss, detention, theft, damage to passenger baggage.

Shop Wine and Dine shall be held harmless from any and all liability in connection with the foregoing. Full responsibility of the operation of conveyances used on these tours rests with the companies operating such conveyances. Recourse of any mishap must be sought in the country where the accident or loss occurs.

Arbitration: any claim or dispute on any matter relating to this document, any printed material or the web site shall be dealt with solely and exclusively by binding arbitration as per the current laws in effect at the time of the dispute as stipulated by the arbitration association of New Jersey. Any such arbitration must take place in new jersey and governed by the substantive law of New Jersey.

These prices are guaranteed within an increase of 20% resulting from the fluctuation/devaluation of the US Dollar against the Euro.
